Web site launch

Ayshford Sansome has invested in a new website which was launched on the 15th December 2010, as well as re-designed literature, to better reflect its strengths and skills and to showcase the most exciting recent projects.

The new site includes client case studies, images by the architectural photographer Andrew Hatfield [see www.andrewhatfield.co.uk] and more information on the practice’s award-winning approach to creating well-functioning buildings.

The intention is to follow the first wave of new materials with a quarterly mailshot keeping clients, associate companies and friends abreast of practice news as well as key industry developments from the begining of 2011 onwards.

Mercedes Benz top dealership

Ayshford Sansome has transformed the UK’s top-performing Mercedes dealership at Brentford into a showcase for the global brand with a stunning new look. The dealership is seen by 136,000 drivers daily and was radically refurbished in three phases over 14 months, allowing the business to remain fully operational throughout.

The landmark site –alongside the elevated M4/ Great West Road into London – now features the UK’s first multi-car display tower and competes head to head with the Audi HQ next door, yet it was designed and constructed with a fraction of the budget and built form.

Salvation Army Harlow

Ayshford Sansome has given an entire group of buildings a new lease of life when they could so easily have been pulled down and replaced. The Salvation Army’s Corps buildings in Harlow have been completely renovated, reconfigured, re-insulated and re-clad – literally reborn – as part of a very cost-effective refurbishment to meet the Corps’ future needs. The works completed in November included: a small extension to improve efficient use of existing facilities; fitting of new low-maintenance double-glazed window units; insulation to the latest standards; and replacing the original external cedar cladding. Harlow is one of several projects the practice has been working on for the charity within the region.

Sun, summer and team activities

Ayshford Sansome picked the perfect spot and probably the last perfect summer’s day for this year’s annual staff outing.  Cars were packed up with deck chairs, sports equipment and picnics as family and friends headed off to Great Notley Country Park and Discovery Centre for a day in the great outdoors.  Cricket, rounders, rides along the cycle paths and trips to the award-winning centre – a stunning example of sustainable architecture – were punctuated by food, drink, more food and lazing in the sunshine!

Ayshford Sansome takes IIP Bronze

Ayshford Sansome’s company-wide commitment to quality and delivering great work for clients has been recognised with an Investors in People (IIP) award.  The practice was given a bronze award following in-depth staff and partner interviews, and a complete review of all internal systems and processes.  A standard that less than 5% of UK firms have achieved to date.

Dave Abdul, the company’s IIP auditor confirmed the practice was just a few points short of silver and with some minor process improvements should easily attain this at the next review.
