Salvation Army

New training & visitor centre

This centre for The Salvation Army, provides opportunities for young people with learning difficulties, through teaching a range of skills that will prepare them for a self-sufficient life. Located on the northern edge of Hadleigh Castle Ancient Monument & Country Park, the project includes a new wing, link, and re-organised existing 1920s building that together separates public from students.

A visitor tea room, staffed by the students, is central to the other facilities provided, including toilets, kitchen, multi-purpose use spaces for displays, meetings, and presentations, as well as skills training workshops.

The building has been warmly embraced by the client, students, and public with visitor numbers increasing since its opening in 2008.
