Leanne’s 26.2 mile challenge for charity

Our Office Administrator Leanne took part in the Moon Walk, a 26.2 mile full marathon around London on 12th May.

This amazing charity event was to raise money and awareness for the vital breast cancer causes.  Commencing from Hyde Park, it started at midnight; she along with others power walked wearing a decorated bra.

She is pleased to say that she completed the challenge in 6 hours, 50 minutes and was still smiling when crossing the finish line!

Going for gold

The Gold Challenge Olympic sports taster training sessions are now in full swing.  So far the staff at Ayshford Sansome have participated in basketball, waterpolo and badminton all in aid of J’s Hospice.

The badminton last month was particularly good fun, we learnt the art of not only getting the shuttlecock over the net, but also how to play in singles and doubles.

The next event will be ‘boxing’ which is planned for Tuesday 10th January 2012 at Baddow School, Chelmsford.

For further details please contact Phil or the J’s hospice directly at info@thejshospice.org.uk to register your interest and have a go at the up and coming boxing event.

Rob smashed the race in great time

Rob successfully completed the Great South Run on Sunday raising money for Children with Cancer UK in the process.

Sporting the charities trademark Mr Men running vest, he finished the 10 mile course in a time of 1hr 31mins 26secs coming 6,140th out of the record 24,000 entrants.

In favourable conditions the flat course remained dry and even the traditional Southsea winds were kind along the seafront for the final 2 miles.

Rob’s currently nursing his sore knees before planning his next challenge.
